How we pack our plants . It's not an easy thing to pack a plant so it arrives in perfect condition. It needs to stay moist, it can't get too warm, it can't be left in the dark for too long, and above all it has to withstand being dropped on its head. The postal system doesn't always show our plants as much love as we do!
The first step is to prepare our plants for dispatch. We keep plants at various stages from young plugs all the way up to 'ready to ship'. These are moist, but not wet, potted and ready to go. We then dress the pots, prepare the personalisation and secure the compost in place with bubble wrap.
We then use a small amount of bubble wrap to secure the pot in place in the box. As the boxes have been specifically designed for the pots, there is little room for movement. We then secure the plant itself inside the box dividers which hold the pot in position in the box. Each dispacth is then tested for movement. If it is secure, the box is sealed, labelled and dispatched.
We always dispatch First Class to minimise time in transit. We also never dispatch on a Friday to minimise the risk of a plant waiting in a depot over a weekend.
In short, we do everything we can to ensure your gift plant reaches the recipient in the same condition it left us in.
